Bake for Nature! Cookie bakers provide homemade treats for Nature Sanctuary volunteer teams and for sale at special events and fund raisers. At the Sanctuary we appreciate our volunteers and offer cookies and coffee/tea to encourage their efforts and social engagement, you can help by cooking up delicious treats at home and dropping them off at the Nature House to be shared with hungry and happy volunteers.

Help, inspire and play! Community Events Assistants serve a vital role in supporting nature education and community outreach at the Nature Society.  They function in a variety of roles including setting up and hosting at events, teaching the public about local ecosystems, and leading nature based games all while helping create an engaging, safe and welcoming environment.

This role has direct interaction with children and vulnerable populations – a CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK is required.

Use your office skills for Nature. You will be the first point of contact welcoming visitors to the Nature House, assisting with gift shop sales, and administrative duties. Join our administrative team to share your skills and learn more about non-profit work. Duties include: Reception • Greet visitors in person or on the phone and answer routine questions • Monitor visitor numbers in the Nature House • Process purchased on Square POS and offer customer service • Help to keep the gift shop, Nature House displays and library shelves tidy and organized • Process donations and memberships through NEON CRM Administration – support staff team by taking on weekly designated tasks (eg. Printing trail maps, updating bird list, updating posters in kiosk and on bulletin boards)

Join this fun and friendly environmental restoration crew of volunteers to remove invasive species and protect the ecosystems at the Nature Sanctuary. The site maintenance volunteers remove invasive species, improve trail quality, and protect the ecosystems at Swan Lake and Christmas Hill. At Swan Lake we show appreciation to volunteers by offering cookies and coffee/tea as a thanks for your hard work and to provide time for post shift social time.

Crafting for Nature! The Silver Swans quilting group serves a vital role in creating fabric art items for the Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Society. Items are created to raise money which supports the mission and values of the Sanctuary.

Help keep the Sanctuary clean.  Volunteers in this role will sweep the teaching shelter and paved pathways or collect garbage on the trails to provide a tidy environment for visitors and help protect the Sanctuary ecosystems.
