Native Plant Sale Volunteers
Native Plant Sale Volunteers provide vital support for our largest community event, the annual Native Plant Sale. Roles include greeting visitors, tallying plants, and helping with event setup.

By joining this amazing team of volunteers, you’ll support native plant gardening, urban biodiversity, and raise vital funds for the Nature Sanctuary—all while being part of a fun community event.

Shifts are typically 2-3 hours long.

Cookie Baker volunteers provide treats for Nature Sanctuary restoration and plant sale volunteers. You can help by baking delicious baked goods and dropping them off at the Nature Sanctuary. In-kind tax receipts are available.

Use your office skills for Nature. You will be the first point of contact welcoming visitors to the Nature House, assisting with gift shop sales, and administrative duties. Join our administrative team to share your skills and learn more about non-profit work. Duties include: Reception • Greet visitors in person or on the phone and answer routine questions • Monitor visitor numbers in the Nature House • Process purchased on Square POS and offer customer service • Help to keep the gift shop, Nature House displays and library shelves tidy and organized • Process donations and memberships through NEON CRM Administration – support staff team by taking on weekly designated tasks (eg. Printing trail maps, updating bird list, updating posters in kiosk and on bulletin boards)

Description

Seed Sower Volunteers grow native plants at home to support local biodiversity and restoration efforts at the Nature Sanctuary. Plants are returned for use in on-site restoration projects and for sale in our annual Native Plant Sale Fundraiser.

This program includes hands-on training in native plant propagation led by Site Director Jay Rastogi. Soil, containers, and plant material are provided as needed.

Crafting for Nature! The Silver Swans quilting group serves a vital role in creating fabric art items for the Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Society. Items are created to raise money which supports the mission and values of the Sanctuary.
