Volunteer Application

We are recruiting for a variety of roles, including plant talliers, greeters, parking attendants, cashiers and more. This fun and anticipated event is now its 30th year. May 2 +3, 2026.

Community Events Volunteers support outreach and community connection by helping at Nature Sanctuary events, including the annual Native Plant Sale.

Volunteers serve as event hosts, cashiers, activity assistants, and set-up/take-down crew—helping create a friendly and welcoming experience for visitors.

Cookie Baker volunteers provide treats for Nature Sanctuary restoration and plant sale volunteers. You can help by baking delicious baked goods and dropping them off at the Nature Sanctuary. In-kind tax receipts are available.

Nature Ambassador volunteers choose a weekly shift to walk the trails, monitor and report on site conditions, track visitor use, and share information about the Nature Sanctuary with visitors. 

Based inside the Nature House, this role involves greeting and orienting visitors, sharing interpretive information about the Nature Sanctuary, assisting with gift shop sales, and supporting light administrative tasks as needed. 

Frog monitors will visually survey bull frog populations around Swan Lake, contributing valuable amphibian data to support conservation efforts.

Seed Sower Volunteers grow native plants at home to support local biodiversity and restoration efforts at the Nature Sanctuary. Plants are returned for use in on-site restoration projects and for sale in our annual Native Plant Sale Fundraiser.

This program includes hands-on training in native plant propagation led by Site Director Jay Rastogi. Soil, containers, and plant material are provided as needed.

Help keep the Sanctuary clean.  Volunteers in this role will sweep the teaching shelter and paved pathways or collect garbage on the trails to provide a tidy environment for visitors and help protect the Sanctuary ecosystems.
