iNaturalist Training Session with Abby Hyde

Abby Hyde will be leading a special training session on iNaturalist during the Victoria City Nature Challenge - learn how to use it to identify flora and fauna, contributing to local data collection and conservation efforts.

This hands-on session will guide you through recording observations, making species identifications, and understanding how your contributions support scientific research—no experience needed, just the app on your phone!

About iNaturalist: iNaturalist is a global online network where users share biodiversity observations through photos and sound recordings. These observations help to track species distributions and population changes over time as the crowdsourced data is verified by other community members and experts. Swan Lake Volunteers observing the plants, animals, and other more-than-human dwellers has a huge impact for the conservation and management of these lands and waters as the urban density impacts increase.
