Invert Week - Bug Printmaking Workshop

03/18/2026 06:00 PM - 07:30 PM PT

Description

This workshop is part of Invertebrate Week at Swan Lake!

Each day, guest speakers and educators will join us to deliver programs on fascinating invertebrate topics - learn more and see the full event schedule here [URL embedded]. Pre-registration is highly recommended as space is limited.

Bring your own fabric item (e.g. cotton t-shirt) or use a Swan Lake tote bag to screenprint your own fabulous insect-themed item (two designs to choose from). Take part in other crafts or enjoy our exhibits while screenprinting supplies are in use by others. This event is for 16+ (unable to accommodate younger than this).

About your facilitator: Averyl Shifflett from CICADA

The Cool Insect Community, Appreciation, and Discovery Association (CICADA) is a student-run club at UVic. We provide multiple ways to appreciate bugs through arts, nature walks and workshops, as well as a platform to connect with other bug-minded people! Whether you live and breathe insects or just want to discover crawlies are not as creepy as you thought, everyone is welcome regardless of knowledge level or background!
