1-2pm: Social and Solitary Bees w/ SLNS Beekeeper
Description
Visit with a beekeeper to chat about the Swan Lake honey bees and learn about other social and solitary bees that we can see in Victoria. Pre-registration is highly recommended as space is limited. This program is part of our Invertebrate Week presentation series; see the full presentation schedule and learn more about the event here.
Facilitator Bio:
Alanna Morbin is a local beekeeper and holds so much amazing knowledge about our small pollinating friends. Alanna takes care of the bees in the observation beehive in the Swan Lake Nature House, which allows visitors to see what it looks like inside a live beehive, and to see bees at work! The Nature House bees help to pollinate the Native Plant Garden and the rest of the Nature Sanctuary.
