1-2pm: Slugs and Slime w/ CRD Regional Parks
Description
Stroll along with a CRD Regional Parks naturalist to learn about some native slug species. You'll find out how slime helps these slugs survive and why they are one of the forest’s best recyclers! Pre-registration is highly recommended as space is limited. This program is part of our Invertebrate Week presentation series; see the full presentation schedule and learn more about the event here.
Facilitator Bio:
Emma Jane Vignola is a Park Naturalist with CRD Regional Parks. Her favourite invertebrate is the Pacific Banana Slug, which can grow up to 25 cm long, making them the second largest terrestrial slug in the world. They play an important role in recycling dead organic matter into nitrogen-rich forest soil!
