Seasons of the Year: explorations of the cycles of nature (winter)

01/14/2023 10:00 AM - 03:00 PM PT

Description

Join local artist Joanne Thomson and nature enthusiasts on a creative journey through the seasons! This is the third of four workshops and the focus is winter. We are thrilled to have environmental artist Natasha Lavdovsky as our guest speaker this session. Natasha will speak about her work with lichens, opening a conversation about the ethics of interacting with lichens, how to identify common lichens in the winter, and what lichens can teach us about queerness, sensitivity and community. Natasha's presentation will include an interactive opportunity to identify some lichens living outside near the Nature House. To check out more of Natasha's work, please visit her webpage.
